My favourite 'How to' crochet book

book

I have got some copies of my favourite 'teach yourself' book - Crochet Unravelled by Claire Bojczuk. The subtitle is 'a clear and concise guide to learning crochet' and I couldn't put it better - really easy to see and follow, very clear diagrams, UK terminology (but with a page listing the US equivalents too). And for left handed crocheters - each stitch is shown for both left and right handers so you are very well served. All this for only £6.99! Zip to my website now for your copy - www.wildbirdcrochet.co.uk

Live at last

My website went live today - so zip along and have a look at www.wildbirdcrochet.co.uk and let me know what you think - its only little but it will grow!

As a taster of things to come - here is Lydia modelling one of Nancy's crochet collars - Nancy's patterns will be available soon.

Very nearly - but not quite - live!

I was hoping to get my website - www.wildbirdcrochet.co.uk - live today but I needed to change another address pointer in my domain and that will take up to 48 hours to become live - so I should be live either tomorrow or Thursday - getting there!

Had a marvellous time (with Nancy) at the Craft, Hobby and Stitch International Show at the NEC. Fell in love with lots of things but especially the gorgeous DMC Petra cotton and their new Hoooked Zpagetti (Yes honestly). I have ordered some of the later so I will post pics when it comes!

I also met the crochet designer Nicki Trench who taught me a lovely yet simple square, like a waterlily - I will photograph it and put it on the blog. Great to meet her - she was so nice too!

onwards and upwards

Well I have now created my website - ok that is a taking it a bit far - but I have built the skeleton of my website and I am now ready to order some stock and start photographing it, then the website will be ready.

I am planning to order some 'extreme' crochet hooks by Rachel John. Here is a pic of her working, taken from her website.

I would really recommend you look up Rachel on YouTube where there is a stunning film of her knitting with 1000 threads.
